About Company

The history of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) began with the visit of the late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah to Japan in 1978. During this visit, an exchange of notes was signed on September 15, 1981, between the government of Nepal and the Government of Japan. This laid the foundation for the establishment of TUTH. On March 10, 1982, the foundation stone of TUTH was laid down by Mr. Narayan Dutta Bhatta, the Minister of Education and Culture. Subsequently, on March 7, 1986, the late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah inaugurated the TU Teaching Hospital. With a vision of imparting medical education, providing health services to the needy, and promoting medical research, a 301-bed hospital equipped with medical equipment was established as the first medical college hospital in the country. The development of TUTH took place in phases. The first phase, the Outpatient Department (OPD), started on July 14, 1983.
