    Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996. SAHAS has been working in remote rural areas focusing on vulnerable and socially excluded families who are derived of development opportunities. SAHAS puts its development efforts towards strengthening the capacities of communities and to create an enabling environment for sustaining development activities by fostering collective efforts of the communities themselves.  

    Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT Phase V) is implementing in Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Mugu, Kalikot, Bajura, Kailali and Achham districts of Nepal. The main goal of the project is to improve the food security and nutrition situation of the vulnerable families and smallholder farmers from the project districts.  

    SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential candidate for the following positions:

    1. Position: Technical Coordinator (Re-vacancy announcement)

    Duty Station: Dhangadi or Surkhet district (with frequently site visits of the project districts)

    Required number: 1

    Academic qualification/experiences:

    • Bachelors in agriculture with minimum 5 years experiences in food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture or Masters in Agriculture with 3 years working experiences in relevant sector
    • Experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting, and developing proposals. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

    Major responsibilities:

    • Management of project plan and budget and review periodically
    • Facilitate to develop the staff capacity to implement the project including developing their understanding and capacity to implement project activities
    • Monitor  the progress of project related to food security and nutrition in accordance with output and outcome indicators and submit quality report on timely basis
    • Prepare and submit compiles data, events, human interest stories, challenges and lesson learnt to publish periodic reports
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project reports and financial report 
    • Linkage and network with province level departments and ministries, and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.
    • Organise workshop at Province level government and stakeholders.
    • Participate in organisational level meetings and seminars.

    2. Position: Advocacy and CBNOs Capacity Building Officer

    Duty Station: Achham or Bajura district (with frequently site visits of the project districts)

    Required number: 1

    Academic qualification/experiences:

    • Bachelors in Development studies or Social Science with 5 years working experience in relevant field of development organizations
    • Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relationship with Local Government bodies and other related stakeholders
    • Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English
    • Good Computer skills

    Major responsibilities:

    • Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
    • Good Co-ordination and management
    • Organize training on Advocacy
    • Documentations of various advocacy issues
    • Staff supervision and development
